
Alan Beaven Family Funds
Alan, 48, a native New Zealander and longtime Oakland resident, was an environmental attorney with Berman DeValerio Pease Tabacco Burt & Pucillo. He devoted his career to representing many environmental groups in numerous high profile Clean Water Act cases. Joe Tabacco, a partner in the San Francisco office, said Alan was an environmental champion whose numerous successful prosecutions have markedly improved water quality throughout California. The environmental bar has lost one of its brightest stars.
Senator Barbara Boxer spoke about Alan from the floor during the 107th Congress.

Alan is survived by his wife, Kimi Beaven, their 12-year old daughter, and by his two sons from his first marriage.
Alan Beaven always said that the greatest gift his parents gave him was that of a good education. In this spirit, a fund has been created to insure that Alans three children receive the same gift in his absence. Donations can be sent to:
